No more lunchtime sushi platters at client meetings or Nespresso machine catch ups with your mate Sandra from accounts. You’ve done it: you’re off to work abroad. This is going to be far better than any office setup in Slough - working abroad is an exciting adventure.
Having to uproot your family, rehome your cat to a family friend and generally work out house selling/renting is only the beginning. That’s before you’ve had a chance to figure out where you’re going to stay when you’re out there, and what you’re going to do with all your possessions.
That three-piece suite you splashed out on last year? Yeah, that’s not getting on a long-haul flight anytime soon. Do your child’s Sports Day trophies really need to be shipped to the other side of the world? Nah (although he was the egg and spoon champ two years running).
What you need is a solution to help with your oh-my-days-the-whole-family-is-moving-abroad-and-we-don’t-know-what-we’re-going-to-do-with-all-our-stuff problem.
Well, that’s because we worry about that. Pianos, jet skis, sideboards, trampolines, your beloved garden shed. We should probably introduce ourselves before we move on. Some advice before you move: have a clear out – but not a half-arsed spring clean. Go wild and make up three piles; store, sell, keep. Anything that doesn’t make the cut, get rid of it. Belongings that you can’t live without - take with you. For items that you want to make some quick cash from, get on eBay or Gumtree and start selling.
You can, of course, avoid the often-emotional process of parting with your stuff. If you’ve spent years curating your own personal collection from around the world, you might not want a clear out which is where STORED can come to the rescue.
