Selling your home? These #StressFreeStorage Renovation Tips will Help Impress Potential Buyers

#renovations #homeimprovements #diy

Selling your home isn’t easy; a house is full of sentimental memories, your children may have grown up here, and although it’s made of bricks and mortar - your home is filled with memories. Do we sound like one of those ‘live, laugh, love’ signs? Probably.

A home is an investment, and you need to get as much cash as you can for your most prized possession. If you’re thinking about selling your home sometime soon, it makes sense to do as much as you can to boost its value. This can often mean a few home improvements, and we have a few handy tips up our sleeve to help you with selling your home.

1. Give your Garden a Spruce
The front garden (if you have one) is the first thing potential buyers are going to see before entering your home. You only get one chance to make a good first impression when a buyer parks up outside your home. And if you’re savvy, making changes to your home's exterior doesn't have to cost a fortune. Give the fence a lick of paint, power wash the patio, trim shrubs, and plant seasonal colourful plants.

2. Remodel Your Kitchen
People love a grand kitchen. They really go wild for a nice place to cook, eat and entertain. If your kitchen is perfect already, you can skip this step. The heart of the home often needs more work than other rooms, but it can be budget friendly. A few simple tricks for your kitchen upgrade could include painting cabinets rather than replacing or getting new cabinet doors to freshen up the whole look.

3. A new Coat of Paint
Never underestimate the power of a fresh coat of paint - and it’s one of the cheapest and easiest ways to renovate your home. You probably have colours in your home that appeal to you but remember: you want to appeal to every Tom, Dick and Harry possible. As much as this makes us sound like a presenter from Homes under the Hammer - stick to neutral colours or shades that can be transitional.

4. Fix Your Flooring
Once people’s eyes have moved from the furniture, the next focal point is the flooring - and upgrading it can make a big impact. If you're short on funds, focus on replacing floors in public areas including kitchens and living rooms, while opting for less costly carpet in the bedrooms.

5. Keep Clutter Down to a Minimum
This is not really a renovation tip, but a good tip nonetheless. People want to see the size of the room without your collection of Russian dolls getting in the way. Declutter and give your rooms a spring clean by storing away any items until you’re ready to move. We’re more than happy to come by and take away anything you don’t need whilst you’re holding viewings. We’re sure you love your Friends Boxsets, but not everyone else will...
